Merrilee J. Rader

Merrilee Rader, 73, passed away peacefully, on January 31, 2018, at her home in Lincoln, NE, surrounded in love by her family. She was born December 2, 1944 in Omaha, NE to Lyle and Tina Marie Failor (Webb). She is survived by her soul mate and husband of 28 years, Gerald (Jerry) Rader, Daughter Denotta (Johnny) Salisbury, Son Darryl (Jennifer) Mattox, Daughter Michelle Mattox, Son Kevin Mattox, Brother Barry (Desta) Failor, Sister Jerilyn Johns, Brother Randy (Karen) Failor, Brother Lindell Failor, Sister Melinda Failor, Sister Coralee (Craig) Carver, 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Merrilee lived most of her life in Lincoln, NE and worked 29 years for the Nebraska Dept of Health & Human Services. She and Jerry both had a passion for square dancing, which was what brought them together as a couple. After marrying, they continued to square dance and enjoyed going on cruises. One of Merrilee’s greatest joys was to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to have all of her kids and grandkids all together. Merrilee is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Tina Marie, and Sister Beverly. In lieu of flowers, Merrilee’s wishes were to have memorials designated towards purchasing a cemetery marker for her sister, Beverly Failor who died shortly after birth.
