
Norma Jean Dougherty of rural Martell passed away peacefully in Lincoln on June 27, 2014. She was born on June 14, 1932 in Hallam, NE to Ernest and Sadie Brunken. As a spouse of an Air Force officer, she lived in many places including stops in Morocco, Montana, Michigan, Missouri and Texas but always called the family homestead in rural Martell home. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harvey Dougherty Sr. She is survived by two children, Harvey Dougherty Jr. and his wife Patricia of rural Martell and Timothy Dougherty of rural Martell. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Dougherty, his wife Ashley and children Owen and Sadie of Blair, NE; Rev. Nicholas Dougherty and his wife Suzanne and daughter Grace of Omaha, NE; Jordan Dougherty and his wife Jaclyn and son Colton of Edwardsville, KS; and Stephanie Dougherty and her fiancé Christopher Thompson of rural Martell, NE. FUNERAL SERVICES 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln. VISITATION Noon to 8 pm Tuesday with family greeting friends from 5 pm to 7 pm; 9 am until services Wednesday all at the funeral home. Memorials to the family for a later designation.
