Raymond P. Hartig age 82 of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 6, 1934 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Henry W. and Bernice M. (Coffey) Hartig. He grew up in Marysville, Kansas. Raymond married Delma Whitesell on September 3, 1955 in Blue Rapids, Kansas. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1996. Raymond is survived by his wife, Delma; daughter, Karen (Russell) Karr of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Daniel Hartig of Lincoln; grandsons, Austin Karr and Brandon Karr of Phoenix; brothers, Henry Hartig of Lincoln; Edward Hartig of Cooper Landing, Alaska; David Hartig of Burnet, Texas; sisters, Bernice Miller of Aurora, Nebraska; Iva Hargreaves of Rochester, Minnesota; Marianne David of Emmett, Idaho; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, Robert and Eugene. Memorials may be directed to Tabitha Hospice or the Food Bank. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
