Richard W. Schneider, 91, of Lincoln, passed away March 28, 2016. He was born in Lincoln on May 24, 1924 to Adam and Marie (Schnell) Schneider. Married Melva Jean (McGee) November 3, 1951. World War II Navy Veteran (Seabees, Carpenter’s Mate First Class) and retired Bricklayer. 65 year member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. Richard is survived by son, Mike (Diane); grandchildren Kelly (Dr. Brandon) Bowers, Parkville, Mo., Carly (Chris) Kleene, Omaha, Ne., and Michael, Lavista, Ne.; great granddaughters Ella and Claire; brothers, Harry (Mary Ann), Edward (Dorene), Leonard (Jan); sister Edna (Everett) Thalhamer, and Dorothy Jensen. Preceded in death by wife, Melva Jean; brother and sister inlaw, Alvin and Evelyn; brother in law Edward Jensen; father and mother in law Everett and Viola McGee; close friends Charlie and Mary Lou Martin. Memorials to the Capitol Humane Society. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 9:00 am in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. A visitation will be half hour before the service.
