Rita Ann Coyle

Rita C. Coyle died on August 15, 2016. She was born on December 22,1925 in Mason City, Iowa to Harry and Catherine Cavanaugh. She was one of 12 children whose home was always open to all people and children. In 1951, she and Paul Coyle were married. They lived in numerous states and settled in Lincoln, NE in 1963. Rita graduated from Cardinal Stritch College and began her teaching career in Iowa and later taught in Illinois and Wisconsin. After moving to Lincoln, Rita taught at Sacred Heart School, then with Lincoln Public Schools in various positions including classroom teacher and coordinator with the Federal Programs of Head Start and Follow Through at Park Elementary School. Rita's total teaching career spanned 39 years. Rita is survived by her husband, Paul, of 65 years of marriage. Son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Deb Coyle (Lincoln) and Son-in-law, Douglas (Micki) Priebe (Elkhorn). Grandchildren include Jason (Laura) Coyle, Erin Coyle (Lincoln), Megan (Nate) Fulkerson (Illinois) and Colin (Katie) Priebe (California). Great grandchildren include Austin and Kelsey Coyle, Taylor and Jordyn Dozler, Elyse Coyle and Colette Fulkerson. Brother James (Joyce) Cavanaugh (Iowa) and sister-in-law Josette Coyle (Wisconson). Preceded in death by daughter, Kelliann Priebe, parents, five brothers and five sisters. Visitation and greeting of family Aug. 19th, 4:00 - 8:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00; Lincoln Memorial Services will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10:00 am, August 20 . Monsignor Liam Barr officiating. Burial at Lincoln Memorial Park, 12:45 pm, Meet at Gate #2.
