

Robert L. Eckery age 87 of Lincoln, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and friends at South Lake Village. He was born in Lincoln to Thomas and Joanna “Agnes” Eckery, Sr. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Cornhusker Kiwanis Club. Bob served his country in the US Navy during WWII and he retired as a Production Marketing Administrator for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, breeding and training golden retrievers and hunting. One of his greatest joys was square dancing and he served as president of the Crosstrailers dancing club. Bob loved entertaining everyone with skits, costumes and his humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bonnie and his brother Don. Surviving him are his children Sue and Rick Johnson, Mike and Deb Eckery; grandchildren Ken and Katie Johnson, Ben and Ashley Johnson, Dane and Chara Eckery; great grandchildren Emma Johnson, Joseph Johnson; brother Thomas Eckery, Jr.; nephews Steve, Tim, Tom Eckery, Dennis and Marilyn Krueger and his niece Diane Brozek. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at South Lake Village for all of their love and support given to Bob over the last two years. Funeral service will be 12:30PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, NE. Visitation Tuesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. Memorials to the Parkinson Foundation.
