He married Iona May Dugan on May 20, 1956 at Temple Baptist Church. Together, they had two daughters—Marlene Kay and Durlene May. After Iona’s death in 1990, Robert married Hedwig “Hedy” on September 30, 1992, also at Temple Baptist. Robert served his country in the National Guard and was employed for decades with the Burlington Northern railroad. He faithfully served the Lord at Temple Baptist as a bus driver and usher, and at the time of his death was the oldest living member.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, two wives, and two daughters. He is survived by a brother, Don (Sequim, Washington) and several friends who became like family to him: Theresa, Phil, Kris, Janine, and the staff at Havelock Manor.
Visitation will begin at Temple Baptist Church (4940 Randolph Street) at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21st, with a Funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be that same day at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery (6800 S. 14th Street) at Noon (meet at Gate 2). lincolnfh.com
