

Steven Wayne Haack, age 70, passed on March 23, 2026 in Lincoln, NE. He was born on November 27, 1955, in Lincoln, NE. Steve loved life deeply and lived it with a generous spirit. He was incredibly kind-hearted, always willing to help anyone who needed it, and his sense of humor, along with his boisterous laugh, left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He attended Waverly High School and went on to serve his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his associate’s degree in Truck Driving from SCC and spent many years on the road in his big yellow truck, driving for Dorothy Lynch and other companies. After retiring, Steve spent his time harvesting corn and soybeans on his family and friend's farms.
At his core, Steve was a family man. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and treasured every moment spent together, especially at family reunions. He also adored his dogs, Mr. Chase and Miss Penny.
Some of his favorite memories were made during summers spent tractor pulling with Mid-State Tractor Pulls, taking his tractor and giving his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and neighborhood children tractor rides around the neighborhood, something he truly loved. During Christmas, Steve was the neighborhood Santa Clause spreading love, and joy to the entire block.
He will be missed by his wife, Henrietta (Hank), children Mandy Weber-Haack, and her three children Banin, Mustafa, and Rahsoul, Deanna Phillips, her four children; Jeremiah, Caleb, Miranda, and Addie, and three great-grandchildren; Danil, Jules, and Calie, and honorary grandchild, Peyton Michener.
Steve is also survived by sisters Kathleen Joseph, Diane (Mark) Leikam, brother Duane (Debi) Haack, Aunt Sandie (Larry) Caldwell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Haack and Shirley (Schroeder) Haack, both grandparents, and brother-in-law Al Joseph.
Funeral services are sheduled on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with a viewing beginning at 1:00 PM, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Interment, with full military honors, will take place immediately following the funeral services in Lincoln Memorial Park, 6700 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the family for future designation.
