Timothy “Tim” Knopp, age 76, of Lincoln, NE, went to his glory on February 13, 2026. Tim was born on May 15, 1949, to Francis “Mike” and Geraldine “Geri” Knopp. He was one of seven children and grew up surrounded by family, faith, and strong values.
Tim attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Irving Junior High School and graduated in 1968 from Lincoln High School. During his school years, he proudly lettered in both golf and football every year. In his senior year, he played an instrumental role in helping the golf team earn a state championship in 1968. Athletics remained an important part of Tim’s life, and he especially enjoyed golfing, bowling and occasionally playing tennis.
Following his graduation, Tim honorably served in the United States Army National Guard from 1968 until completing his service in 1973.
Tim was a man of many talents and interests. One of his early careers was as a jeweler, a skill he used to lovingly design the wedding ring for his wife, Christie, in 1974. Tim and Christie shared a devoted marriage and would have celebrated 52 years together this coming November.
His passion for renovation–particularly plumbing-led him to open and operate his own business, The Bathroom Remodeler, which he successfully ran for 20 years. Known as a true fixer and handyman, Tim later continued this work professionally as the Facilities Maintenance Manager at Lincoln Industries, where he dedicated 22 years of service.
Retirement never slowed him down. He remained busy making home improvements, not only alongside Christie in their own home, but for friends, family, and anyone in need. Tim was always willing to help, generously offering his time, skills, and kindness to others.
He treasured time spent golfing, being outdoors, and making memories with his family. Tim was especially fond of his standing traditions with his golf buddies-Tuesday brunches and Saturday breakfasts-which he faithfully attended. After retirement, Tim and Christie welcomed a new addition to their family, their beloved dog, Trixie, who quickly became Tim’s best friend. Together, they enjoyed time outside and cozy evenings watching television under a warm blanket.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Mike” and Geraldine “Geri” Knopp; his sister, Judy Knopp; his brother, Mike Knopp; sister-in-law, Lucy Knopp; and parents-in-law, Bill and Billie Skov.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christie Knopp; their dog, Trixie; sons Nicholas Knopp and Christopher Knopp; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-granddog. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Drewes and Susie Visser; brothers Joe (Deb) Knopp and John (Karen) Knopp; and brothers-in-law Buzz (Elaine) Skov, Richard Skov and Don Skov.
In lieu of flowers, Tim and Christie would like memorials to be sent to Willard Community Center, attn Sarah, 1245 S. Folsom, Lincoln, NE 68522, in the support of Children and Senior Programs.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2:00PM, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512.
