Vernelle “Nellie” Miner, 85, of Raymond passed away April 20, 2015. Nellie was born August 2, 1929 to Tony and Helen Backer at Randolph, NE. She loved to fish and camp; enjoyed tending to her flowers; and was known as an exceptional cook. Survivors include her children, John Miner; Pam Pratt, Rick Miner and Doug Miner; her brother, Ed Backer; sisters, Dorothy Hazelhorst, Joan Synovec and Shirley Kruger; daughter in law, Leslie Miner; as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Miner; son, Larry Miner and special friend, Bernie Campbell. A Celebration of Nellie’s Life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday April 23, 2015 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8 until 10 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials in her memory may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
