Viola M. (Hietbrink) Jones, 91, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on March 9, 2016. She was born to William and Gertrude (Bouma) Hietbrink on May 6, 1924, on a farm in rural Firth, Nebraska. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and loved animals. She always enjoyed visiting with friends and her Washington Heights neighbors. She was a seamstress for Vandervoort Interior Design making custom curtains and bedspreads. Viola is survived by her daughter, Debbie Vandegrift. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister, husband Raymond and son-in-law Tom Vandegrift. Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 14, at 12:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials to Capital Humane Society or to family for future designation.
