Virginia "Ginni" Marie Haase

Ginni was born June 26, 1942 to Edgar and Irene (Kirwin) Marvin in Davenport, Iowa and passed away at home in Lincoln on January 22, 2024. During her childhood years, she lived with her family in several places including Loveland, Colorado and Clovis, New Mexico, which is where she graduated from high school. While living and working in San Francisco, California, she met the love of her life on a blind date. They were married on July 18, 1970 in Lincoln and were blessed with two daughters and 53 wonderful years together. Ginni was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and an active participant in many church groups and activities throughout her life. She is one of God’s greatest blessings to us and lives on in our hearts as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, and a caring friend to countless others.

Ginni is survived and loved by her husband Richard (Dick), daughter Rebecca (Chad) Mawson, daughter Elizabeth (Chris) Peterson, grandchildren Joel and Lauren Peterson, step-grandchildren Trevor, Collin (fiancée Alexandra Lager), sisters Judy Lopo and Pauline (Larry) King, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roger and Dianne Humann, as well as nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in passing from this life by her parents, brothers John and David, parents-in-law Ervin and Clara Haase, and brother-in-law Frank Lopo.

Visitation will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, January 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Committal services will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 9:30 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park, 6800 South 14th Street. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 South 33rd Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
