Vonda graduated from Southeast High School in 1962 and spent her working years as an Account Clerk at Lancaster Manor. Aside from work, Vonda loved to cook, garden, and spend lots of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was very important to Vonda and she would always take time to teach her grandchildren her special holiday recipes. She was known to have the best rolls and chocolate chip cookies.
Survived by her daughter, Trisha Lundy, son Frank (Heidi) Schmal lll all of Lincoln; grandchildren Jennifer (D.J.) Mahloch, Samantha (Andrew Sexton) Gealy, Elizabeth (Ethan) Wachal, Madilyn Lundy, Makenna Schmal, and Elijah Schmal, great grandchildren Amelia Mahloch, Cole Mahloch, Blake Mahloch, Bella Gealy, and Piper Wachal all of Lincoln, brother Larry (Jan) Mohr of Champaign, Illinois, sister Victoria Bones of Ashland, Oregon, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Frank Schmal Jr. and her parents, Virgil and Ruby (Kayser) Mohr.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr. Lincoln, NE 68516. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park.
