William Bowar

William J. Bowar age 84 of Lincoln, died Thursday February 19, 2015. Born in Dimock, SD to John and Julia (Weber) Bowar. Retired manager for the Elk Point, SD grain elevator and after retiring at the age of 70 he began working as a courier for Eagle Delivery in Lincoln. Bill was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing cards, all spectator sports especially the ones that involved his Fighting Irish from Notre Dame. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, Knights of Columbus in Elk Point, and the Old Farm Circle Home Owners Association in Lincoln. Bill served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce; children Janelle (Chuck) Larsen, John Bowar, Patrick (Melissa) Bowar, Amy (Dan) Archuleta; grandchildren Abbie, Andy Larsen; Nick, Becca Bowar; Danielle, Adam Archuleta; sister Isabelle Erpenbach; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass 10:30AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St, Peter’s Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Drive. Rosary, Monday, 7:00PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, NE.
