Emiliano Chico Santamaria

He came to the United States at the young age of 16, where he worked hard to build a better life for himself and his family. He was a trailblazer and a businessman. He was one of the first people to take the risk of opening a business—a barbershop—that set the stage for others to follow in his footsteps.

My dad was a man of many passions. He was a big fan of boxing and soccer and loved listening to all kinds of music. He was a dreamer, an optimist, and someone who truly lived and loved life. No matter the situation, he always knew the right thing to say.

He was kind, generous, and funny. He was a loving brother, friend, Uncle, husband, and father who will be greatly missed.

Emiliano Chico Santamaría falleció el 6 de agosto. Emiliano era conocido por muchos como “Chino” o “Domingo”. Tenía 53 años y nació en San Buenaventura Nealtican, Puebla, México.

A los 16 años emigró a Estados Unidos, donde trabajó arduamente para construir una vida mejor para él y su familia. Fue un pionero y un hombre de negocios. Fue de los primeros en atreverse a abrir un negocio —una barbería— que marcó el camino para que otros siguieran sus pasos.

Mi papá era un hombre de muchas pasiones. Le encantaba el boxeo y el fútbol, y disfrutaba escuchar todo tipo de música. Era un soñador, un optimista, y alguien que realmente vivió y amó la vida. Sin importar la situación, siempre sabía decir lo correcto.

Era amable, generoso y gracioso. Fue un hermano, amigo, esposo y padre amoroso. Lo vamos a extrañar profundamente.

A visitation for Emiliano will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A funeral mass will take place Monday, August 18, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 155 Washington Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. A funeral will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, 750 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
