Irene P Wodzinski

She was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938 and moved to Elizabeth, NJ early in life. She attended Ithaca College where she achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education.

Irene began her music teaching career in the Scotch Plains public school system. She put her career on hold in 1969 to have children and then resumed teaching in the mid 1970s as a music teacher with the Eliabeth Public School System. She retired in 1988.

In the early 1980s, Irene was an organist for local Catholic churches including St. Adalbert's, St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, and St. Hedwig's parishes.

Irene is predeceased by her parents, John and Stella Poznansky.

She is survived by Frank J., her husband of 57 years, two sons, John S. and his wife Debra, and Michael V., brother Richard Poznansky and his wife Regina, and one grandson, "her sunshine", John Karl.

Visitation for Irene will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral on Thursday, September 25, 2025, 9:00 am from the funeral home. Funeral mass St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Linden at 10:00 am.

Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Linden.
