We are honoring the life of João Santos, a man whose love, passion, and dedication touched the hearts of all who knew him. Born on June 24, 1966, in Portugal, João came to America in 1975, bringing with him a spirit of hard work and determination that would define the rest of his life. As a business owner, João operated not just a successful deli, but built a community of friends and customers.
João’s love for cars, particularly BMWs, was one of the many passions that defined him. Whether he was talking about them or simply admiring them, his enthusiasm was often shared with his son. His family and friends often found themselves wrapped up in his excitement. He was an avid Yankees, Devils, and Sporting fan who almost never missed a game with his sister. João was a devoted husband, father, brother, and son. He cherished his family deeply, always putting them first and ensuring they knew how much they meant to him. His dedication to his loved ones was unmatched, and his legacy as a caring and loving family man will never be forgotten.
Though João may no longer be with us in the physical sense, his spirit will live on in the countless memories he created and the impact he had on so many lives. To know João is to appreciate his sarcasm, honesty, and witty demeanor by always trying to put a smile on your face. He is survived by his loving wife, Milena, his son, J.P., his parents, Joaquim and Maria Otilia, his sister, Cristina, and his future daughter-in-law, Alexa. João, you will be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten.
