In loving memory of Julio Augustin, age 61, born on May 21st, 1963, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who peacefully gained his angel wings on September 19th, 2024, surrounded by the family he devoted his life to.
Julio's journey from Haiti to Elizabeth, NJ, began on July 25th, 1995, at the age of 32, with his then 15-month-old son, was fueled by one goal: to provide his family with a better life. His dedication and love for his family defined him, making him a beloved figure to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Julio was a man of integrity, love, and hard work.
Throughout his life, he often juggled two or three jobs at a time to ensure his family had everything they needed. Working as an armed security guard was one of his favorite roles, a job where he found pride and purpose. Before coming to the U.S., Julio pursued higher education in Haiti, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering—a testament to his intelligence and ambition. Beyond his hard work, Julio knew how to enjoy life. He loved spending time with friends, DJ’ing, and even indulging in a little gambling from time to time. He had a zest for life that was contagious, and everyone who knew him would agree—Julio always smelled *good*.
To know Julio was to love him. His magnetic personality, warm heart, and infectious smile could light up any room. He was a true people’s person who made it his mission to help others. If you were in Julio’s circle, you were family, and he was generous to a fault—his money was as much yours as it was his. There wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t do for those he loved. One of the deepest and most beautiful relationships in Julio’s life was with his mother, Marie Augustin. Their bond was extraordinary, like two halves of the same whole, filled with love and mutual respect. That love shaped Julio’s outlook on life, making him the caring and devoted man he was.
Julio’s pride and joy were his family. He was a loving father to his son, Giovany Augustin, and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, Sincere, Karter, and Alani, who he cherished beyond words. His love and dedication to his family were unwavering, and he worked tirelessly to make sure they had the best life possible.
Julio is survived by his beloved wife Chantal Augustin, mother, Marie Augustin; his sister, Marie Therese Logis; his brothers, Kako, Dudrey, and Fritz Augustin; his son, Giovany, and daughter-in-law, Tanz-janeyha Manns-Augustin; His Nephew Gary Augustin, and his three grandchildren, Sincere, Karter, and Alani Augustin.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him forever. Julio Augustin’s life was one of service, love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Though he may be gone from this world, the impact he made on those around him will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
