Born on September 23, 1966 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Elizabth, NJ, Lisa Ellen McHugh (nee Faccone) was the daughter of Joseph Faccone and Josephine Faccone, both of whom predeceased her, and the wife of Peter McHugh, and the sister of both Angela Faccone, son/nephew Thomas Colaiacovo, Jr. (Ted Fiore) and Joseph Faccone, Jr. (Veronica), and is survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and godchildren, all of whom she loved, and Benny, her cat.
Lisa was a graduate of St. Anthony’s grammar school, Roselle Catholic High School, and Rutgers University. She was a CPA and a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She was a partner, along with Barbara Benson, her dear friend of more than 35 years, in the firm of Dicellis & Faccone.
Lisa was incredibly kind and sweet and adored her family and friends and always did whatever she could for them.
She was very intelligent, incredibly funny, and a master of witticism – she could always beat you with a comeback line – and nothing made her laugh more than getting folks with April fools jokes. She loved numbers and words, and regularly created her own nonce words, silly songs and jingles, which she only shared with her close family and friends. She was also fantastic at picking out gifts for people.
Lisa loved to travel, especially by car, and had travelled across Europe from the United Kingdom to Greece, and even to Israel and Jordan. She visited all 50 states and most of the Canadian provinces on numerous road trips to California from New Jersey, often with her big sister, Angela, who was her frequent travel buddy. Her stories of their travels were often so funny that she was asked to write them down. She loved old TV shows (I Love Lucy, Perry Mason) and cartoons (Bugs Bunny and Road Runner). She greatly enjoyed old films noir and could recite from memory almost all the lines of every Abbott and Costello film, Marty (1955), The Heiress (1949), Imitation of Life (1959), and the Pride and Prejudice (1995) miniseries, which were her favorite films. She also loved music, from Big Band/Swing (which came from her father’s love of same), to Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and most especially Tony Orlando.
Her loss has come as a great shock to her family and friends and she will be missed more than she could ever know.
Finally, Lisa hated social media and would not be happy with us posting this about her, but she isn’t here to stop us, so too bad, Lisa.
