Maria Antonia Caban Jimenez

Maria Antonia Caban, daughter of the late Felicita Caban-Jimenez and Juan Caban was born on September 19, 1939, in Aguada, Puerto Rico.

Maria attended Segunda Unidad Guanabana Aguada Public Schools until she moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey in the early 1970s. Maria affectionately known as “Tona`” was a caring, loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend to many. Whenever she was around family, her heart was filled with joy.

In her spare time, Maria enjoyed cooking, watching novellas and traveling to Puerto Rico. Her favorite things to cook were pasteles and pernil and her favorite show to watch was Sabado Gigante. Maria also enjoyed going on long walks; where she often would walk from her home to the downtown Elizabeth area to shop at her favorite stores Bobby’s, Salermo Jewelry, and Shoppers World.

Maria worked as an Aircraft Environmental Service Provider for Continental Airlines for over 20 years. She loved her job and helping others. Maria honorably retired from the workforce in the early 2000s.

Maria will be deeply missed. Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband Justiniano Galloza-Garcia, son Eladio Galloza, and beloved parents Felicitia Caban-Jimenez and Juan Caban. She leaves behind to cherish her memory beloved children; Andres Galloza, Maria Galloza, Wilson Galloza (Diana), Julia Harvey, Hilda Padierna (Luis) and Efrain Galloza, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children, 3 great-great-grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Maria will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A funeral mass will take place Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. A funeral will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 220 Mt Olivet Ave, Newark, NJ 07114.
