

Philip Hydock, 74, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Philip was born on May 28,1949 in Elizabeth, NJ to his late Parents Steve and Gladys Hydock. Philip attended St. Mary's in Elizabeth from K-12th grade. He went to Devry Technical Institute and later worked at the Bayway Refinery in Linden.
Phil volunteered at two different locations, Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ and the ER in Union. In addition to his volunteer work, he was a member of the American Legion Post 0060 and the VFW Post 7363. Philip is a United States Air Force Veteran, serving in both Vietnam and England. One of Phil's favorite pastimes was fishing. He and Bootsie would often go to Lake Delaware for freshwater fishing, as well as to the shore for flounder. They would always make a stop at Skokos in Point Pleasant for a delicious hamburger. Gardening was another passion of Phil's. He loved planting tomatoes and vegetables and would generously share the harvest with his family and neighbors. Traveling was a great joy for Phil. Some of his favorite destinations included Turks and Caicos (OCW), Rome, and England. He would often say, "I'd fly to Rome tonight" because he loved the food and the people there. For over 40 years, Phil and Bootsie hosted Thanksgiving gatherings. Phil was known for his delicious sausage stuffing and for creating a different pie each year. He was also famous for his homemade beef jerky. Photography was another hobby that Phil enjoyed. He would capture precious moments at all the family parties, leaving us with a treasure trove of memories. He took great pleasure in watching his nieces and nephews grow into young adults, and now he cherishes his time with his great nieces and nephews.
Philip is survived by his loving wife Anne (Bootsie) Hydock; 2 Brothers, Robert Hydock, and wife Debbie of Elizabeth; Paul Hydock, and wife Donna of Union; 25 Nieces and Nephews; 41 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Phil will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Philip will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, 10:00 AM, at St Genevieve's Church, 200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth.
