Vincenza Colicchio

In remembrance of Vincenza (Mannino) Colicchio 89 of Elizabeth, it is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing at home on Friday, February 2, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born in Graniti, Province of Messina, Italy, Vincenza immigrated to the United States in 1959 when she was 24 years old.

Vincenza lived in Cranford before meeting her husband Armando and relocating to Elizabeth. She and her husband owned Armando’s Beauty Salon in Colonia where she was also a hairdresser for many years. Vincenza was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Elizabeth and the secretary of Ladies of Ribera Italian Club. She loved to cook for her family, enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and trips to Atlantic City, and also enjoyed joy riding in her fancy cars.

Vincenza was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Santa, her devoted husband Armando, and her brother Nino. Vincenza is survived by her sister Giovanna, her daughters Lisa Colicchio (Luis) and Roseanne Bennett (John).One granddaughter Amanda, two grandsons Johnny and Danny, many nieces, nephews and friends, two grand dogs Bambino and MiaRose all of which she adored. We will deeply miss our dear mother, sister, zia, nonna, friend, who gracefully imparted strength and resilience to us all. A wonderful role model, she leaves behind a legacy of courage. Her spirit will guide us through life’s journey.

A visitation for Vincenza will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home 2124 East Saint George Ave., Linden ,NJ 07036. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 6,2024 ,9:00 am. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:15 am at Saint Anthony's RC Church, 853 3rd Ave,Elizabeth. Entombment will follow Rosedale Cemetery,Linden, NJ.
