Yanira Castillo

Yanira Elizabeth Castillo Mejía, born on August 1, 1967, in El Salvador, peacefully departed this life on March 6, 2025. She was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In pursuit of a better life for her children, Yanira bravely moved to America, dedicating herself to their well-being and happiness. She found immense joy in spending time with her beloved sons, John Alvarez, Kevin Mejia, and Kelvin Vasquez. Whether watching movies together or enjoying long, heartfelt conversations with her sisters, she created lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Known for her playful spirit, Yanira had a goofy personality and loved to joke around with her family, bringing smiles to their faces. She was also celebrated for her remarkable forgiving nature, always striving to see the good in everyone she encountered. Her unwavering faith as a devoted Christian guided her life, and she drew strength and inspiration from her beloved Bible.

Yanira is survived by her three sons, John Alvarez, Kevin Mejia, and Kelvin Vasquez; her sister, Dinora Mejía; her brothers, Pablo Mejia and Luis Mejia; her cherished nieces, Valery Mejía, Kinverly Cordoba, Jenifer Martinez, and Madelin Martinez; and her nephews, Bryan Plummer, Nicholas Plummer, and Andrew Plummer. Each of them will hold her memory close to their hearts, forever inspired by her love and kindness.

A visitation for Yanira will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 17, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07067.
