Donna Cunningham

BRUNSWICK: Donna J. Cunningham, 77, of Brunswick passed away peacefully Thursday morning at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lisbon on October 24, 1939 a daughter of the late Clarence and Annie (Reynolds) Beal. She grew up in the Lisbon Falls area and attended local schools there. She attended Lisbon High School and was a graduate of the class of 1957. On July 9, 1960 she married John Cunningham in Brunswick and the two started a family together. During that time, Donna worked at the Worumbo Mill as well as Health-Tex. She also did bookkeeping for the Lisbon Emergency Dept. for 17 years, something she thoroughly enjoyed. Her most recent job was sewing for LL Bean until her retirement in 1994. One of Donna’s greatest passions was spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren any chance she could. She would often refer to them as “my kids” She also found great pleasure in attending family BBQ’s, lobster feeds and fishing with her late husband, John. Donna enjoyed cooking very much and was very proud to provide many knitted items for various clothing drives as well as her own family. She is survived by her three children; Peg Robinson of Popham Beach, John Cunningham, Jr. and his wife Vicki of Topsham and Betty Ramos of Lancaster, PA. She also leaves behind her three sisters; Beverly Wallace of Brunswick, Janice St. Amant of Lisbon Falls and Betty Byrd and her husband John of Topsham, as well as her two brothers; Elwin Beal of Durham and Kenneth Beal and his wife Mary Jane of Lisbon Falls. Donna will also be dearly missed by her six grandchildren; Jennifer LaBarbera and her husband Rob of Poland, ME, Josh Robinson and his girlfriend Kym Peabody of Jefferson, ME, Ashley Wandrei and her husband Justin of Topsham, ME, Brittany Cromwell and her husband Christopher of Brunswick, ME, Kameron Cunningham of Topsham, ME and Christopher Cunningham and his girlfriend Anna Alzerreca of Corinth, ME as well as her 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Cunningham, Sr. in 2007 and her brother, Clayton Beal. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 4-7pm with a small prayer service and blessing at 5:30pm. A burial will take place in Rogers Cemetery in Topsham at a later date.
