

Karen Judith Hanlon passed on April 5, 2026, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Clifton and Doris (Parker) Lawyer. She was born on November 5, 1938 and grew up in Auburn, Maine. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School class of 1957. While attending EL she met her future husband Richard Hanlon and they were married on November 24, 1962. Immediately after completing school she started working for Metropolitan Life In. Co. as a clerk.
In October 1968 she and her husband moved to Lisbon where she drove school buses and later was employed as a librarian at the Lisbon Elementary School. She retired from there in 1999.She was a member of the Central Maine Dart League where she earned many special awards. She was also a member of the Wednesday Coffee League at the Goodtime Bowling Lanes - bowling for team "Keglar 4" and the Lisbon Left Hand Club. Among these hobbies she also enjoyed snowmobiling, NASCAR, traveling in the motorhome, camping and spending time in Florida.
She is survived by her two sons Jeffrey of Lisbon; Kevin and his wife Mariette of Lisbon along with her grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Hanlon. She is also survived by her sister Annunciatta (Nancy) Hunter of Gorham along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother and father; husband Richard, brother in law Robert Hunter and nephew Tim Hunter.
Per the request of Karen, there will be no visiting hours and no funeral services. A private graveside will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers donations in Karen's honor may be made to the Jimmy Fund or Left Hand Club PO Box 715 Lisbon, ME Attn Children's Christmas Party.
