

LEWISTON: Roberta P. Ridley, 80, of Lisbon, passed away Friday morning at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Lewiston on March 25, 1932 a daughter of Irving and Hazel (Burnham) Darling. She grew up in the Sabattus area and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Sabattus High School, class of 1950. On July 15, 1950, Roberta married her high school love Leonard Ridley Sr. in Sabattus. For many years she worked in various mills as a laborer where she finished at Miller Mill. After that Roberta and Leonard owned and operated a small store together for a few years. She will always be known for her enjoyment of making crafts, volunteering at the Good Shepard Food Bank and her many church works. She was a proud member of Lisbon Free Baptist Church in Lisbon. Roberta leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Leonard Ridley, Sr. of Lisbon, three children, Everett Ridley and his wife Vicki of Lewiston, Roland Ridley, Sr. of Lisbon, and Tina Berger and her husband John of Maryland. She is also survived by a brother, Wesley Darling of Auburn, three sisters, Connie Bowen and her husband Pete of Lewiston, Donna Woodman and her husband Woody of Monmouth, and Tina Ayer and her husband Chet of Sumner as well as 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Ridley, Jr., two brothers Lawrence and Everett Darling, and one sister, Laura Cloutier.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
RIDLEY---Roberta P., 80, died on January 25. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-12pm. A celebration of her life will take place also on Tuesday at the Lisbon Free Baptist Church in Lisbon at 2pm. A committal service will commence in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus.
