William A. Dunton Sr.

BRUNSWICK - William A. Dunton Sr., age 81, of Post Office Rd. in Westport Island, ME died Tuesday afternoon December 22nd at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick with family at his side. He was born in Lewiston August 2, 1934 a son of James H. and Vira (Jones) Dunton. He grew up in Lisbon Falls and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952. On June 20, 1959 Bill married the former Helen Piela at Holy Family Church in Lisbon Falls. They resided for a number of years in Lisbon Falls and have been living in Westport Island for the past 30 years. Bill worked 39 years at Bath Iron Works, spending the last several years as a shipfitter until retirement. Among his favorite enjoyments were cutting and working with wood, fixing cars and reading and learning about WW II history. He and Helen also enjoyed spending many Summers at their camp on Westport Island. Bill was a loving, devoted and hardworking husband, father and grandfather who be dearly missed. He leaves behind his wife Helen Dunton of Westport Island, three sons Bill Dunton Jr. of Lisbon Falls, Jim Dunton of Westport Island and Tim Dunton and wife Wanda of Jefferson, ME and one grandson Bill Dunton III of Lisbon Falls. Mr. Dunton was predeceased by his parents. At his prior request, there is no visitation or funeral. Interment will take place in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.
