I am stunned and shocked to find out Karen has passed! I was just looking her up online to see if I could contact her and ran into this! I am so sorry for your loss Carl and Julie!

I was so sad to hear of Karen's passing.  I remember the first time I met her I thought she had the most beautiful smile and she was just so sweet! Whenever I think of her I remember that day. My deepest sympathy to Carl, Julie and the entire family.

Karen was so kind to me whenever I would get to see her or hang out during and after highschool.  I love your family and am sad that you have to go through this loss. May God comfort all of you today and in the days ahead. I know she will be missed deeply yet she will always be able to make you smile.

My high school years at Oak Park River Forest were truly all the more beautiful because of the friedship I had with Karen and Joe Raschal. I'm deeply saddened to learn of Karen's passing. She not only was a trusted friend, but she was also one of the  kindest and gentle spirits I have ever known. GOD bless you Karen, and thank you for all the beauty you gave this world.

Karen was a special person, I had some of my best conversations with her, I think we thaught each other a lot about life.  Even tho we didn't get together often I always looked forward to talking to her when we did.  My heart hurts to know she won't be around to do that anymore but I will always have my memories of our good times.  To Carl, Julie and all her family my thoughts go out to you, I know she loved you all.

We are so very sorry to hear of Karen's passing. Karen was such a ray of sunshine and so full of life and love. I am extremely privileged to have had the honor of knowing Karen and being able to watch our girls grow up into such lovely young ladies. Karen's deep devotion to her family and her beautiful daughter, Julie, has always been an amazing sight as this is the kind of bond most parents can only dream of. That purity, respect and unconditional love will always be Karen's legacy.

Strength and perseverance.  Love and faith.  Family above all else.  Give back til it hurts.  Earth bound angel.  Simply the best person I've known in my 50 plus years.  I knew Karen briefly but she made every day a little better just being there.  Could anyone keep from smiling back at her?  I know I couldn't.  She'd be the first one to tell you how fragile life is and how much you have to protect what's important to you.  She can be at peace and rest knowing she won the tough fights and walked past the one's not worth fighting.  She'll always be a hero to me.  Her siblings must know, they were always in her heart and on her mind.  Her daughter was her greatest treasure.  She spoke of little else but always had time for anyone's story.  I tear up just thinking of her patience and her ability to find the silver lining.  God must have his reasons, maybe he needed a little cheering up himself.  He picked the right girl.

I worked with Karen for the past 3 years, and let me say it was quite the honor. When I think of her at work I think of her walking down the line with the biggest smile on her face. I think I can speak for everyone at our store that when we saw that smile, it always made a bad day better. She had such a positive spirit pouring from her at all times. And when she would get stressed she was able to take a step back, understand the situation and accept it. I'm 19 and I've known her since I was 16, her attitude about life made an everlasting impression on me. She is one of the few people in my life that made me want to better myself, and for that I am so thankful. I hope her family can one day find peace and acceptance in her passing. I know that's what she would want. My prayers go out to you all.

Julie and Kimmy have been friends since 5th Grade. I always looked forward to the long chats with Karen and running into her at the local stores throughout the years. Her cheerful smile and kind words will be missed by our whole family. The Dooley's, Jim, Barb, Mike and Kimmy.
