Michele M. Jakubowski, nee Mittler, 70, of Downers Grove, passed away in the comfort of her own home on March 7, 2026. Beloved Wife of James for a loving 44 years. Devoted Mother of Benjamin (Roseanne) and Laurel (Zach) Turner. Loving Daughter of the late Sidney and Leonore, nee Broder. Fond Sister of Jeanne (the late Glen) Estes and Judy (Harold) Witkov. Aunt of many.
Michele graduated with a B.A. from the University of Illinois and a M.A. from Roosevelt University. She was a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society and the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was truly her happiest hosting family and friends, especially her children. Michele will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, determination, never-ending kindness and love of animals.
A Memorial for Michele will take place Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with a Funeral Service at 3:30 PM, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave. Lisle, IL 60532. A Reception will follow the Memorial at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Rush Movement Disorders Clinic and One Tail at a Time Pet Rescue in Michele's name are greatly appreciated.
