Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Annie Johnson, and his brother and sister-in-law, George and Elaine Johnson.
Roy was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 21, 1932. This hard working city boy would get on the train and bus from Chicago to Minnesota each summer to help his relatives on the farm. He was bright and quite adept at working with his hands so after he graduated from high school he completed training to become a master electrician. He met the love of his life, Phyllis Zingrebe, and the two were married on September 22, 1956. They raised three boys in Lombard and Naperville, Illinois.
Roy was very well read and a World War II history fan. He excelled and enjoyed his long career as an electrician. Roy had a positive outlook on life and a cheerful spirit. Roy loved his family, fishing and camping with his sons and grandsons, and golfing with his wife, Phyllis.
The family requests that any donations made in Roy’s name be directed to the Parkinson Foundation.
