

Valerie lived a life defined by purpose, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
She was a woman of remarkable intellect, drive, and heart. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Benedictine University, earning her bachelor’s degree through dedication and perseverance that reflected her lifelong pursuit of excellence. Her professional life was marked by passion and leadership as a partner and Director at Emerge Wealth Strategies, where she played an integral role in the firm’s success and in the lives of the many clients she served. She was also a proud member of the Lisle Chamber of Commerce, remaining actively engaged in her professional and local community.
In addition to her business accomplishments, Valerie found deep fulfillment in her work as a coach with Landmark, a role she truly loved. Through coaching, she helped individuals discover clarity, confidence, and possibility, guiding others toward meaningful personal growth. This work reflected the very core of who Valerie was—someone deeply committed to inspiring, empowering, and supporting others in becoming their best selves.
Best remembered for her passion for inspiring and empowering others, Valerie believed wholeheartedly in the power of encouragement and transformation. Whether through her professional work, coaching, mentorship, or everyday conversations, she left people feeling stronger, seen, and capable.
Valerie embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved traveling with her travel group, welcoming new experiences and connections, and treasured her Sunday evenings playing games with her Dungeons & Dragons group, where laughter, camaraderie, and imagination brought her great happiness.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Spero (née Dougherty); her sister, Lisa Pytel (née Spero); her beloved niece, Samantha Caiafa; and her cherished dog, Dixie, her constant and loyal companion. She is also lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many friends and clients whose lives she touched in profound ways.
Valerie was deeply involved in her community and devoted to the success of her business and the people she served. Her sudden passing leaves a deep and painful loss, yet her legacy of compassion, leadership, and empowerment will live on through the countless lives she influenced.
She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her intelligence, and her extraordinary ability to help others see what was possible. Though her life was far too short, her impact is enduring and immeasurable
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, located at 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL, 60532, on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
