Chief Ibe Frank Onyeokeziri was born on the 3rd day of January 1959, to the late Mazi Izuegbu Frank Onyeokeziri and his beloved wife Mrs. Ihukaku Janet Onyeokeziri (also of blessed memory). He was the youngest of three sons and the 5th of 7 children. From an early age, he was especially endeared to his parents who often called him by their chosen nicknames. His father called him Enyim( My friend) while his mother's nickname for him is Nnam( Daddy). Chief Onyeokeziri was born into a Christian family of the the Methodist persuasion and he remained a lifelong member of Wesley United methodist church both in Nigeria and here in the States.
He began his education at Township Primary School where he performed and completed with distinction from 1968 to 1973. He then proceeded to attend Madonna high school in Ihite, Etiti in Mbano local government area of Imo State, Nigeria. He was a natural leader and in school at Madonna, he was one of the top student prefects on campus. He successfully completed his secondary school education in 1978 and his elder sister, the late Mrs. Becky Agu invited him to relocate to Lagos Nigeria which he did. There he proceeded to obtain employment with a British owned company where his easy-going personality served him well. But Chief was not one to settle for complacency. He was ambitious and had a strong desire to advance his academic and other horizons. In 1981 he sought and obtained admission to a college here in the US. The news of his decision thrilled his family and his late beloved father did not hesitate to provide the necessary financial and moral support needed to actualize his dream.
In 1981 he arrived and began his studies at Philander Smith College. He completed his undergraduate degree and proceeded to graduate school where he successfully obtained his MBA in Business administration. He married and settled down to have and raise a family. The union was blessed with five wonderful children who all like their father, are pursuing their own dreams in their various fields of endeavors.
He returned back to school in the 90s and obtained his BSN degree in nursing, a field he worked in until his untimely death. He was a great son, brother father and and husband to his current wife, Lolo Rita Onyeokeziri. He was compassionate, and a true communitarian. His death diminishes the world of all who loved him and he will be sorely missed. He is survived by his loving wife, his five wonderful children, three wonderful step children, three sisters and a host of other relatives whose hearts are shattered by his loss.
May God grant him eternal peace.
