Dora Ernesdiene (Meier) Miller was born in Schönwald, Bavaria, Germany on September 15, 1941 to Franz Xaver Meier and his wife Marie Augusta (Fink) Meier. After a short battle with cancer, Dora passed on August 19, 2025, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Robert (Bob) L. Miller, her parents, her sister Maria, and three brothers Rudolf, Karl and Alfred. She is survived by two sisters, Edith and Anni, and one brother, Max, along with many nieces, nephews and other cherished family members.
After high school and three years of college, Dora worked in anelectric factory fixing radios. Years later, while working in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany, she found the love of her life, Bob; a soldier of the U.S. Army, stationed in Grafenwöhr, Germany. On December 8th, 1979, they were married and two years later moved to the U.S., where she worked as a housekeeper, and together they lived a joy-filled life in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
After Bobs death in 2011, Dora longed to be back home in Germany, but due to unforeseen circumstances was unable to do so. Alongside her loyal companion dogs that she loved dearly, Lady Sunshine (2009-2023) and Kaylee (2010-2025), she focused on living her life as a kindhearted, genuine friend and neighbor to those around her.
In recent years she looked forward to weekly lunch dates with her dear friends from the local Hays Senior Center and doing life with the Ussery family and the Uekman-Dunavant family, of which she was an honorary family member to both. Dora will be sadly missed by all her family and friends but never forgotten.
Dora now lays next to Bob at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. (C-291)
