Judith (Judy) Ann Grimes Whitlow, age 77, of Maumelle passed from this earthly home into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 26, 2021. Judy was born on August 23, 1943 in Little Rock, AR to James Bernice Grimes and Dorothy Marie Gideon Grimes.
Judy was a 1961 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. She was a varsity cheerleader throughout high school. Her high school special interests were cheerleading, dancing and swimming. Judy worked most of her adult life in mortgage, real estate and property management in Little Rock and Memphis, TN. Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her cats Dewey and Dallas. She loved traveling, especially to Paris and on family beach trips. She also loved reading, taking care of her home, working in her garden and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Throughout her life, she lovingly adored many felines. She relished her roles as wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Judy was talkative, generous, wise, and loved to have fun.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Ellis Whitlow of Maumelle, son Sam High (Jennifer) of Maumelle, stepson Mark Whitlow (Kim) of Cabot, stepdaughter Alecia Block (Cliff) of Salado, TX, sister Becky Grimes Wright (Ben) and their children Andy, Margaret and Suzanne of Dallas, TX, four granddaughters Kathryn and Mackenzie High, Lauren Block, Haley Castellani (Thomas), grandson Jordan Castillow, brother-in-law Sam (Lucille) Whitlow of Lonoke, brother-in-law Edwin (Sandy) Whitlow of Whittier, CA, and a host of many relatives in Texas who miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., Sherwood, AR 72117. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the same location at 10:00 am, Friday, April 2, 2021 with burial following in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society. Very special thanks to friends and neighbors for food and fellowship in the final days of Judy’s life.
