

Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Atkins, 79, of Magnolia passed away March 12, 2025. He was born October 11, 1945 in Waldo, Arkansas to the late Dowis C. and Gertie H. (Edwards) Atkins. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by brothers, Dowis C Jr., Derrell and Donald Atkins; nephew, Eddie Atkins; and his beloved American Eskimo Spitz dogs, Cody and Casper.
Kenny was a proud graduate of Waldo High School, where he was valedictorian, and later earned a Business degree from SAU. He spent over 50 years in Little Rock, working as an auditor for the Arkansas State Revenue Department. A talented musician and singer, Kenny was known for his passion for playing the guitar. He found joy in many things, including spending fun-filled days at Oaklawn Park horse races, walking his dogs on the trails of Pinnacle Mountain State Park, and attending family reunions. Kenny especially cherished the yearly trips he took with his close friends, and he was always ready with an entertaining story to share, whether about family or friends. Kenny was a kind, gentle, thoughtful, and loving person, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish the memories of Kenny include his brother, Gerald (Betty) Atkins; sister, Syble Fincher; sister-in-law, Anna Atkins; nieces and nephews, Sharon (Drex) Grisham, Kevin (Amy) Atkins, Jay (Mandy) Atkins, Linda (Jack) Watts, Julie Linder, Todd (Gina) Atkins, Brett Atkins, Kelley Atkins, Jennie Atkins, Clark Atkins, Mandy (Dan) Webb, Donna (David) Hinshaw, Kari (Jeff) Fomby, Leigh Ann Fincher, and Keith (Marcia) Fincher; long time companion, Dee Dee Wright; many great-nieces and nephews, and lifelong close friends.
Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Shiloh Cemetery in Waldo, Arkansas.
