Melba Jean (Burton) Yancey, 96, of Little Rock passed away August 10, 2024. She was born July 19, 1928 in Salem, Arkansas to the late Earl and Venice Burton. In addition to her parents, Melba was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 38 years, J.B. Yancey; and brother, Aaron Burton.
She is survived by her two sons, John (Jane) Yancey of Thayer, Missouri, and Dan (Nadine) Yancey of Austin, Arkansas; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Gerald (Mary) Burton of Warren, Arkansas and Bill (Kaye) Burton of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of friends from Good Shepherd Retirement Center.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024 at Oak Forest United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 30 minutes before the service at the church. Melba will be laid to rest following the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
