

Bob Alexander was scholar, teacher, coach and friend to many in the Little Rock community. Born in Manhattan, New York on September 14, 1925. Growing up, Bob excelled in both athletics and school, as well as achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. After serving our country in WWII he attended NYU before graduating Summa Cum Laude from Hunter College.
At the age of 34, Bob moved south to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he met the love of his life Bettye McCullough Alexander. There, they settled, and raised four children together. Bob, an entrepreneur at heart, founded Argenia, Inc a successful insurance wholesale shop. Despite starting a successful business from scratch, Bob was also active in the community. He enjoyed mentoring youth while coaching football, basketball & baseball.
In his later years Bob was active in Kiwanis, Life Quest and volunteered at Helping Hands.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Bettye, son Michael Alexander and grandson Roland Gabriel Fry.
He is survived by his daughters Patricia Malone Theros (Brian), Elizabeth Alexander Fry (Randy), by his son Robert McCullough Alexander (Angie) and his friend, and companion, Ms. Jean Brown.
Bob is also survived by his grand-daughters Terry Leach, Katie Alexander and Miriam Fry, as well as grandsons Michael Alexander, Jr., Christopher O’Dell, William O’Dell, Greg O’Dell, Shane Alexander, Zachary Alexander and Benjamin Alexander.
Bob had numerous great-grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren and will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
