Ruth A. Kirby, of Hot Springs Village, passed away May 10, 2022 at CHI ST. Vincent's Medical Center. She was 100 years old. She was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Selma Louisiana.
She graduated in California from Long Beach State College with a BA in microbiology. She had a long and distinguished career in medical technology in San Francisco and at the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Bankston; grandchildren, Nathan Schweitz (Liza) and Emily Martlin (Luke); and great grandchildren Hollan, Annabella, and Tallulah Schweitz, and Callum Martlin. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18 at 2 pm at Cedar Vale Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.
