Willie Douglas Dyess

How do you sum up 88 years of life in a few short sentences? Willie Douglas Dyess known as bill was born in Oklahoma on March 19th 1933 to the proud parents of Oather and Troy Dyess. As with many families during the depression and the dust bowl they had to move, so they headed west and ended up in McFarland California. Life wasn't easy but they worked together as a family picking cotton, grapes ECT. There were five children James, Willie, Belva, Dolores and Judy. He married Dora Bell. The marriage didn't last but he was blessed with his daughter Troy. He then married Jessie Faye Day Dyess. Willie and Jessie adopted Margi in 1966. Willie was an ironworker in Carson California. He was a very active member in the church. He started a athletic league which included baseball and basketball.

When the iron plant in Carson shut down he and Jessie moved to Northern California (union city) so he could continue working in his field. Bill and Jessie were married for 36 years when Jessie passed away.

Bill then married Alice Almond Dyess, they moved to Arkansas where she was born to be with her mother. Bill and Alice just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last year (next month would have been 26). Bill was truly blessed to have been married to two wonderful women.

Most of us are lucky to find one person who truly loves us, Bill was lucky enough to find two.

Bill has two daughters Troy and Margi, he gained two more daughters Jackie and Sue. He has 14 grandkids, 26 great grandkids and 3 great great grandchild Bill's heart beat for the last time at 2:58 p.m. April 6th 2021 surrounded by his wife Alice Dyess and many other family members. He had a host of family to welcome him into heaven, his mother and father, Jessie, daughter Troy, his two son-in-law's Dino and Sam, his brother Jimmy, his sister Cora Sue and many others.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
