Willie Drew Quattlebaum, 88, of Romance, Arkansas, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Willie Drew was born April 27, 1933 in El Paso, Arkansas, a son of the late James William and Nettie Lillian (Johnson) Quattlebaum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pat Quattlebaum; brothers, Dillon and Drexel Quattlebaum.
Willie Drew was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from Thomco Construction, as a bridge foreman. He built the approaches to Interstate 430 and the bridges on Interstate 630 and many bridges on 167 north of Bald Knob. He was also in charge of the flood gates in North Little Rock. His favorite thing to do was to mow his acreage and sit in his chair and watch the traffic going to Romance and the boats enroute to Heber Springs.
Mr. Quattlebaum is survived by his children, Lesa Hanks and husband John of Little Rock; Darron Quattlebaum and wife Ann of Romance; Monica Pratt and husband Doug of Little Rock; his grandchildren, Brandon Hanks and wife Sarah; Kyle Hanks and wife Shannon; Brent Hanks and wife Kelly; William Pratt; Kenzie Hanks; and four great-grandchildren, Heelyn, Parker, Emma and Hudson.
The family will hold a visitation on Thursday for family and close friends from 6:30pm until 8:00pm, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth; and a second visitation at 11:00am, Friday, June 18, 2021, at Blasingame Cemetery Pavillion, near El Paso, Arkansas, with service to being at noon, followed by burial, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
