For 16 years I lived next door to John & Dottie. The most wonderful people one could ever have for neighbors!  Kind and generous they were to us Californians. When my husband passed away in 1999 John & Dottie looked after me until I moved back to California in August 2000. I will never forget them!
My condolences to their children and grandchildren. They were a treasure!

Mom, not only did you give me life, but you gave me Honesty, Fairness and Humor.  It was an honor and privilege to be with you the past 6 weeks; the only thing I would trade it for would be YOU, here and healthy!  I love you forever.

Mom, you were the best mom anyone could ever ask for.  You loved us unconditionally; you always had a smile on your face; and you would do anything for us if we were in need.  I loved your sense of humor, and I am so glad that you had that right up to the end, even in your final days you were still making us laugh.  I am going to miss having you over for dinner and cocktails or to watch a Bronco game, or to go out on the boat.  But I know that you are at peace, and are where you wanted to be.  Until we meet again. I LOVE YOU MOM.

Grandma was one of the strongest people I know and one of the most inspiring people I have ever met.  She taught me to love life and to have lots of friends.  She taught me to have fun and make the most of it.  I love the fact that my passion for the Broncos came for Grandma and Grandpa.  I remember all the parties they would have and thinking I wanted to be like that when I grew up.  I am a better person for for having Grandma in my life.  She means so much to so many people and has made a huge impact on so many lives.   Grandma, I love you very much and hope you know how very much you meant to me.

Grandma to me was a women full of fun and love. My summers and holidays were the best of times. In the summer my sister and I would play in gramdma and grandpa's red carpeted office and type away on the typewriter. I wrote grandma a letter that she kept for over 20 years. Grandma was the type of grandma that loved to hold onto those precious memories because she loved all her grandkids to the fullest. She was fun , loving, strong, and always made me feel better in times of darkness. I pray I was able to give back a little of what she had given me through my life and ease what she was enduring in the end. She was one of a kind. I will love her for loving me as much as she did.

I will remember Grandma for teaching me to love the Broncos, boating at Chatfield, a fun trip to Thermoplis as a kid, and Thanksgiving just isn't the same any more now that it's not at her place.  These are some of my fondest memories as a kid, but I will always be eternally grateful to her and Grandpa for giving me my mom.

I would always tell my coworkers and friends that Mom was my inspiration.  She inspired me in so many ways...    I often told Mom how proud I was of how well she was managing her life and her finances after dad passed away.  In every situation she would dwell on the positive and not give way to "woe is me".  She disciplined herself to live within her means and stay active, both mentally and physically.   She loved her job and was very sad when her illness caused her to resign.  She was very active with her friends and participating in family activities.   Mom had a keen sense of humor which could lighten any mood!  I will miss our phone calls and weekend visits where we would tell stories and laugh until we cried.   Mom was my best friend, I could tell her anything.  Her motherly advice was kind, without judgement, and practical.  As sad as it was to watch her slip away from us these past 3 months, I would not have missed it for the world.  Her courage and graciousness in her final months inspired me even more than I ever could have imagined.   I love her and miss her very much.

I am going to miss your nightly "cheers"  and talking about the tv shows,we always had to critic them and discussing the Rockies and the Broncos!!lol  we took a lot of trips together all over the countryside.what fun we had.I will miss you my friend but will see you again.

Hope you are all up there having a beer, chatting about the travails of this life and the blissfulness of the next.  It was such a blessing to my spirit to be with you during this time.  Now you know how deeply felt that blessing is for me. Forever I will remember our many, many days--a lifetime of memories around your table, in your back yard, or mom and I in your kitchen.  I especially enjoy the new memory of Connie and I being in trouble over hamburgers. We'll laugh about that for a while!  Love you, already miss you, but look forward to seeing you again.  Shelly
