The funeral will be at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hill Road, Livingston, NJ, on Tuesday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place on the grounds of the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ
Born in Warsaw, Poland, Alex lived in the Bronx and Queens, before moving to West Orange in 1958.
Alex was a radio officer in the Merchant Marines. He then received his advanced degree in Electrical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytech Institute, Brooklyn, New York and was an electrical engineer for many years with various companies including RCA, Burroughs, Litton and Sweda. He also taught as a professor at NJIT and most recently at RETS Institute, Nutley, NJ.
Alex was predeceased by his sister Florence and brother Sam.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Frances, sons, Barry of Washington State, Jeffrey (Melissa) of Lawrenceville, NJ, daughter Jocelyn (Brian) of Flanders, NJ, and 3 grandchildren, Carly, Eddie and Stefani. He is also survived by his brother Sidney (Dorothy) of New Hyde Park, NY, and a host of nieces and nephews.
