Born in Newark, NJ and raised in Maplewood and South Orange, Amy married Les Charmatz on April 25, 1987 and moved to Bedminster NJ then moved to Springfield where she lived until moving to New Providence in 2021. She was a graduate of Rutgers University for both her Bachelor of Arts Degree and for her Masters of Social Work Degree. She worked as a Social Worker for the Rutgers Community Health Plan in New Brunswick for many years. Amy was also an avid artist for many years, working in many media including sculpture with mixed media and found objects, as well as paintings. She was a long-time member of the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.
Amy was the beloved wife of Leslie Charmatz for 38 years, cherished sister of Peter M. Goldsmith (Kathleen) and Jane Davis.
A graveside funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Temple B'nai Jeshurun Cemetery, 1351 Lower Rd, Elizabeth, NJ.
