Benjamin Hupert, 99 of New York City passed away on January 19, 2019. Ben was born on November 6,1919, the second child to Morris and Rose (Greenwald) Hupert. As an adolescent he attended the Yeshiva in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He was a WWII veteran, serving the Merchant Marines. While stationed in the Philippines, he met his best friend and partner of 60 plus years, Robert Sechser. Ben was an automobile sales person in Manhattan until his retirement at the ripe young age of 55. He then travelled the world with Robert and they built a home on Fire Island, where they enjoyed living part-time. Snowbirds, Ben and Robert split their years between New York City and Miami until Robert’s passing. He enjoyed a full life and sharing his experiences with his family.
Ben is survived by his brother Stanley Lou Hupert, niece Phyllis Zager-Wiener ( husband Gordon Wiener), nephew Marc Hupert and grand nieces Danielle Sherman ( husband Zalman Joseph Sherman) and Lauren Wiener. Pre-deceased by his partner Robert Sechser, siblings Helen Zager, Issie Hupert, Pearl Hupert.
