Betty Levy Marcus, 98, passed away on January 20, 2022, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold T. Marcus, brother Donald H. Levy of Nashville, TN, as well as her daughter, Dr. Nancy H. Marcus. She is survived by her son Teddy Marcus (Barbara), daughter-in-law Dr. Cecile Reynaud, grandson Jesse Marcus, granddaughter Jennifer Santamaria (Jesse), and great grandson, Aaron Santamaria.
She was born in New York City on October 8, 1923, to Hugo and Grace Levy, was a long-time resident of New Rochelle, NY, and a proud graduate of Goucher College. She was extremely proud of her two children and their careers. Teddy is a retired entrepreneur and businessman, and Nancy was an oceanographer and retired as the Dean of the Graduate School at Florida State University in 2015. Betty served as a medical records librarian in her career. She was a lifelong learner, collector, and an avid reader. She and her husband traveled the world. She looked forward to solving the daily NY Times crossword puzzles and going for walks around her Forest Heights neighborhood to get fresh air. Over the years she volunteered at the New Rochelle Public Library, the New Rochelle Hospital Breast Cancer Center, as well as their thrift antique shop.
