

Deborah Saxe Patterson, 58, passed away on Saturday, July 18, at home in West Orange, NJ, surrounded by her family, at the end of a long and valiant battle with cancer. The funeral will be held at the Benhiem- Apter-Kreiztman Funeral Home, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, NJ at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 22.
Debbie was born in Boston and grew up in Kennebunk, ME, Nashville, TN, and Allentown, PA, graduating from Linclon-Sudbury High School, Sudbury, MA. She was a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College (BA ’79) and the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (MS ‘ 82). She was a teacher at Golda Och Academy, West Orange, NJ since 2006.
Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed baking and holiday celebrations.. Everyone’s favorite was her brownies. Debbie had a love for life, with many close friends all over the country. She particularly loved her summers in Maine and her cronies from Camp Fernwood.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, and sons Kyle of Dallas, TX and Andrew of State College, PA, her mother, Beverly Saxe of Kennebunk, ME, as well as her beloved lab, Goldie.
Donations in memory of Debbie may be made to the Cancer Center at St. Barnabas Medical Center, St. Barnabas Foundation, 95 Old Short Hills Rd West Orange, NJ 07052.
