Donald H. Mintz 82 of East Hanover passed away Sunday May 12 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wayne. Born in East Orange and resided there before moving to East Hanover. Donald was a US Army veteran serving in WWII. Donald graduated from University of Chicago, Columbia University and Harvard Law School in 1954. Mr. Mintz was an attorney and owned and operated Donald H Mintz in East Orange. He was the Essex County Prosecutor from 1955-1959. He was a member of Essex County and NJ Bar Association, American Legion, Temple B’Nai Abraham of Livingston, Masterwork Chorus and NJ Opera Bass for 22 years. Surviving are His wife Jovina Ann (Toscano ) Mintz of 33years., his children Mark Mintz, Sara Baum, Michael Mintz, Leonard Sherwood, Stephen Sherwood and Julius Sherwood, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Chapel services will be held Tuesday 11am at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, NJ . Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Donations may be made in Donald’s name to St Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Unit at Wayne.
