Doris was a constant figure in my comings and goings at the Parkway House.  She always had a smile and warm welcome.  At one time she wanted to send an article for publication.  I went to her apartment to get it so that I could publish it on my computer.  Doris had the most beautiful cursive penmanship imaginable!  Her writing was clear and expressive.  What fun we had getting that task done.  Also, I went with a group to sing carols at Van Dyk ~~ Doris was right there singing along with us, holding my hand.  Blessings on her and a life well lived. Doris was a good friend to all of us at Parkway House, Glen Ridge and we have been missing her since she went into Van Dyk assisted living home, Montclair.  I first met Doris and her wonderful brother Bill (Dr. Maurice William Greer) when I moved into Parkway in 1987.  They had already been there since about 1983.  I had many conversations with both of them, and they were obviously very intelligent people.  After Bill passed I saw Doris in our lobby often and she always had something good to say about people.  Very sharp wit and great with a comeback.  Years ago when I asked Bill whether he preferred to be called Dr. or Maurice or William, he simply said, "Dan, my friends call me Bill."  So, it was Bill and Doris for many years, and I'm proud to have been their friend.   Dan Martin
