Edward was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with the 197th class at Central High School. He was an Eagle Scout, a varsity track athlete and an avid Phillies fan.
Upon graduating from SUNY Downstate Medical School, he opened an ophthalmology practice in West Orange, NJ where he practiced for nearly fifty years. He served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston, NJ). He loved being a physician and caring for his patients.

Edward prioritized and cherished the time spent with family; especially playing games, and sharing puns. He taught by example, both in practical learning and in his role as a son, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, his daughters Kara and Melissa, his grandchildren Jeffrey, Alison, William, Oliver, Annabel and Coco, his brother Larry, and many other family and friends.
