Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Edwin moved to Westchester, NY where he raised his family. He then moved to Indiana for fifteen years before returning to Westchester seven year ago. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at Johns Hopkins University and then earned his Masters Degree from Columbia University. He work as an economist for The National Review and then for The Hudson Institute before continuing his career working independently.
Edwin was the beloved husband of Beth for 49 years, loving father of Sam Rubenstein and Shana Pentirer (and her husband Marc), devoted grandfather of Jillian, Lucas, Vivian, Maya, and Murray.
